Hello #ANAB2B Chicago!

“It is hopeless for the occasional visitor to try to keep up with Chicago-she outgrows his prophecies faster than he can make them. She is always a novelty; for she is never the Chicago you saw when you passed through the last time.”
―Mark Twain, Life On The Mississippi 1883

With Mark Twain’s words reverberating in our minds, Sarah Przybylak and I (Matthew Kilgour) are in Chicago right now to see what novelties the city can conjure at the ANA Masters of B2B Marketing Conference.

Fresh from opening our new Earnezt office on Madison Avenue, we’re very much looking forward to some serious networking (or: ‘hobnobbing’ as we Brits prefer to call it) and ingesting some prime insights from the best that B2B has to offer (or ‘furiously taking notes and passing off conference quotes as our own deep thoughts’ as we Brits prefer to call it).

From amongst the excellent roster of speakers who will be in attendance, we are most looking forward to hearing from:

  • Jamie Cleghorn (Bain & Co) telling us what B2B buyers really care about.
  • Alicia Tillman (SAP) telling us how to turn purpose into action.
  • Mo Katibeh (AT&T) explaining how 5G is going to transform what businesses can do.
  • Victoria Morrisey (Caterpillar) explaining how science and story intersect to create grand brands.
  • David Rabkin (AMEX) talking through an approach to telling authentic stories in the age of digital networks.
  • Matt Ferguson (Mower) and Towanda Long (Charlotte Pipe & Foundry) telling us how it is that you make cast iron and PVC piping stand out.

The agenda is packed with topics that Earnezt has been thinking and talking about for some time – the power of emotion in brand, developing purpose and making it mean something, knowing your customers and how you can help them, the role of technology in the evolving lives of marketers – it’s all in here, and we can’t wait.

If you’re in Chicago too and have some recommendations on who we should be going to see please let us know! Also, if you’re in town and fancy meeting definitely give us a shout – Sarah’s kindly offered to pay for the coffee. Thanks Sarah!
