Exceptional junior content writer wanted

Salary dependent on experience plus excellent benefits

We do B2B different

Earnest is an agency with a mission: to chase the humdrum out of B2B marketing.

Since opening up shop in 2009, we’ve built brands, shaped strategies and ran campaigns that’ve delivered results, delighted audiences and won a surprising number of awards. We’re now fortunate to count the likes of Samsung, Vodafone, Instagram, Facebook and Centrica among our clients.

We’ve built a reputation for creating insight-rich content that sets our clients apart. Truth is, we were committed content marketers long before content marketing was even a thing.

Are you ‘The One’?

We’ll come right out and say it – we’re looking for a junior content writer who’ll blow our socks off.

Someone with a year or two’s writing experience (ideally in an agency or editorial environment).
Someone who loves short and long-form content (but especially long-form).
Someone who does detail, with a mean eye for accuracy and consistency.
Someone who likes getting under the skin of how businesses operate.
Someone who can untangle the knots in tricky subjects like technology.
Someone who winces at marketing fluff and is repulsed by jargon.
Someone with a finely tuned humdrum detector.

Sound like you? Then we really should be talking.

You’ll be doing this kind of thing…

Supporting the Content Team on…well, all things content. Your typical day might involve:

  • Writing, editing and proofing articles, guides, whitepapers, video scripts, interactive tools – anything with words, basically.
  • Researching markets and trends, digging around for the kind of insights that shape killer content strategies.
  • Coming up with fresh content ideas to help bring clients’ stories and messages to life.

…but not this

Navel-gazing in a room for days, working on a three-word strapline.

Not that kind of role, not that kind of agency.

Marketing Assistant (part-time) wanted

London, West End
£20-£30k (pro-rata) depending on experience plus excellent benefits
Join Earnest

Since 2009, Earnest has been an agency on a mission to chase the humdrum out of B2B marketing — plying our trade with a genuine passion for combining insight with creativity to deliver exceptional results to our ever-growing list of clients.

And so far, it’s been so good. We’ve built a talented team, picked up a surprising number of awards and are now fortunate enough to count Centrica, Instagram, Vodafone and Microsoft among our clients.

But we don’t want to stop there, we want to continue growing by winning new clients as well as growing and retaining our existing ones. And it’s the role of our newly formed Marketing team to make this happen by making Earnest famous for being creative problem solvers and chasing the humdrum out of B2B marketing.

What’s the role all about?

As our Marketing Assistant you will work with our Head of Marketing to help put Earnest on the world stage. You’ll help drive new business opportunities and grow and retain existing clients.

You’ll work collaboratively with teams across the agency to help implement our Marketing plan.

What you'll be up to

  • Help plan and implement marketing campaigns and projects.
  • Write briefs, draft timing plans and brief our creative and planning teams.
  • Book resources and work collaboratively with our creative and digital teams to deliver the task in hand.
  • Help implement and monitor our social media activity.
  • Co-ordinate internal resource to support our award submissions
  • Identify opportunities for blog and social content, co-ordinating the production of blogs and working with creative teams to develop supporting assets.
  • Post case studies, blogs and news stories to our website and to our paid for partnerships.
  • Encourage Earnies to share our content with their clients and on their social profiles.
  • Help evaluate the performance of our marketing activities so we can improve what we do using Google Analytics and Lead Forensics.
  • Help research new business prospects and support new business activity.
  • Work as a team player in the agency and get involved wherever needed.

Hours: The role is currently part-time. 2.5-3 days a week, ideally spread across the week

About you

  • You’ll have a relevant marketing degree or professional qualification and at least a year’s marketing experience.
  • You’re naturally enthusiastic with a great sense of humour.
  • You have a passion for marketing and an appreciation for great creative work.
  • You’re good at simultaneously managing multiple projects and you see tasks through to completion.
  • You’re a great communicator with both verbal and written communication skills, in fact you can lend your hand to copy writing things like social posts or emails.
  • You’re interested in digital marketing (content, PPC, SEO and social) as well as more traditional channels like events and brochures.
  • You’re super organised and you don’t miss a typo.
  • You’re confident with or would be up for learning how to use a CMS and CRM.
  • You enjoy working with others.
  • You love what you do and like to go the extra mile.
