The client director role is a vital one for Earnest. You’ll help us realise our ambitions by managing and strengthening our client relationships. With your understanding of their attitudes, concerns and interests, you’ll help ensure that our strategies – and the work we develop around them – are always spot on.

What you'll be up to

  • Liaising with clients on a daily basis, developing strong, profitable relationships
  • Taking a client-centric and proactive approach to both nurture and grow accounts, while ensuring maximum profit for all projects
  • Leading the strategic direction for key clients
  • Helping to draft marketing proposals for campaigns, rebrands and digital projects
  • Understanding the full ‘marketing mix’ – from digital, social and inbound to media, PR and data – and employing your knowledge with confidence
  • Owning at least one ‘top tier’ client and taking ownership for their P&L
  • Getting involved in new business, handling RFIs, liaising with procurement and running the end-to-end pitch process
  • Proactively thinking of ways to increase the scope of our work for existing clients
  • Acting as a role model for more junior members of the team
  • Helping them develop their skills, experience and, ultimately, their careers
  • Being the best possible representative of Earnest, encouraging clients to do the most interesting and effective work they can
  • Working as a team player in the agency and getting involved wherever needed
  • Attending networking events and where relevant, training courses

About you

  • At least 7 years’ experience of managing multiple projects, from either a digital, B2B or integrated agency
  • A client-centric, consultative approach to nurturing and growing client accounts
  • Gravitas and the ability to own and run a meeting with senior clients or colleagues
  • An appreciation for great creative work as well as a passion for marketing
  • A willingness to work hard and go the extra mile
  • To be enthusiastic, creative with a great sense of humour

What’s it all about?

At any one time you’ll be supporting the team in meeting (and exceeding), the expectations of at least one of our largest clients, as well as working on one or two smaller projects.

You’ll manage internal resources and budgets while ensuring our strategy – and the creative that comes out of it – are just right for the task at hand. As a key point of contact, the Client Manager role is crucial to maintaining great client relationships – something that’s absolutely fundamental to our success.

What you'll be up to

  • Simultaneously managing multiple projects.
  • Taking briefs, briefing creative and planning teams
  • Selling in and presenting work and plans (from creative to campaign plans).
  • Some people management responsibility (line management is typically by Client Directors).
  • Liaising with clients on a daily basis, developing strong, profitable relationships
  • A client-centric and proactive approach – able to both nurture and grow accounts – whilst ensuring maximum profit is achieved on all projects
  • Help draft marketing proposals for campaigns, rebrands, digital projects – and be confident in understanding the process
  • Understand the full ‘marketing mix’ – eg digital, social, inbound, nurture principles – and also partner agency skills eg media planning, PR, data management, search and research
  • Confidence in helping more senior team members in delivering on strategic client briefs
  • Proactively thinking of ways to increase the scope of our work for existing clients (especially for our smaller clients)
  • Involvement in new business; researching, helping draft proposals and responses – as part of the pitch team

About you

  • At least 3–4 years’ experience of managing multiple projects, from either a digital, B2B or integrated agency

You know your buying cycles from your bicycles. You have a hunger for doing something different. What you'll be up to

  • Helping formulate content strategies in tune with our clients’ marketing objectives – working closely with our planners to recommend the right content tactics for the job
  • Insight gathering – immersing yourself in the worlds of our clients and their target customers, the key trends, issues and opportunities on their radar, through desk research and interviews
  • Content planning – formulating and structuring content plans that share your vision for each content asset to be created
  • Content writing – copywriting a wide gamut of content, both long and short form – from guides and infographics to video and podcast scripts, from web experiences to social media posts
  • Content sourcing and editing – helping commission other content writers and specialists to meet client demands, handling their briefing and managing the quality of their output
  • Content promotion – helping develop plans to distribute and promote our content digitally to maximise its reach and performance. Social media experience is a must
  • Proactive thinking – constantly looking at what’s out there and how we can innovate across our content offer to stay at the forefront
